On this day in 1970. Apollo 13, 13th April 1970. An explosion caused by an exploding Oxygen tank on Apollo 13 forced the astronauts to abandon their mission to the moon and head home, they were nearly at the moon when the problem occurred and they were forced to turn back . Apollo 13 announces “Houston, we’ve got a problem!”.
On this day in 1969. The last tram to operate in Brisbane, Australia, completes its final run.
On this day in 1945. Judy Nunn was born on the 13th of April, 1945. Australian actress and author, best known as Ailsa in Home and Away.
On this day in 1997. Tiger Woods becomes the youngest golfer to win the Masters Tournament, aged 21 years.
