On this day in 1912. On the 14th of April 1912 in the Atlantic Ocean, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg just before midnight.
Also on this day in 1865. On the 14th of April 1865 President Lincoln is shot and mortally wounded by John Wilkes Booth while attending the comedy “Our American Cousin” at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. He died the next day.
