  • On this day in 1933.  The country singer, Willie Nelson turns 80 today.

  • On this day in 2011.  The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  The wedding took place in Westminster Abbey with nearly two thousand guests.
  • On this day in 1958.  Michelle Pfeiffer, American actress, celebrates her birthday today.
  • On this day in 1988.  Australian icon, the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, is opened in Longreach, Queensland.  It is a complex to pay tribute to the explorers, overlanders, pioneers and settlers of Outback Australia.

  • On this day in 2001.  Millionaire Dennis Tito became the world’s first space tourist.

    Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.  ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.  The Australian and New Zealand forces landed on Gallipoli on 25th of April 1915.
  • On this day in 1809.  Australia’s first post office opens in Sydney, Australia.
  • On this day in 1719.  Daniel Defoe’s navel “Robinson Crusoe” is first published.
