LoL! I’ve always liked these trivia and useless facts. My son has picked it up now – he tells me facts that he gets from a site somewhere.

p.s. I’ll show this page to my son, to add to his list! And thanks for the likes and follow on my blog.

Thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate it. My two girls enjoy the trivia and facts as well, and finally my husband jumped online this morning to find out what happened today, not on our site, but it was wonderful to have him bright eyed telling me facts that I didn’t know.

What a lovely idea for a blog. I love useless facts. I will certainly follow it and ‘participate’ now and again, as it should be a lot of fun.

I just sent your useless fact about the name Wendy to my cousin, along with your link, because I thought she’d be interested. I know I sure am.

    • 09history May 19, 2013 at 8:32 pm #

Thank you so much! We hope she enjoys it as much as you. A wonderful name picked for the story of Peter Pan.

I have to agree, they are useless but I like your blog anyhow. It is very attractive and uncluttered. I’m going to follow it for awhile and see what develops. Are you good at crossword puzzles?

    • 09history May 23, 2013 at 10:09 am #

Thank you so much! Am I good at crossword puzzles? I thought long and hard how to answer this question, being the first question someone has asked me on our blog. In another 30 years from now I hope to be excellent at crossword puzzles, with time, learning, and knowledge but for now I will say that I am ok at crossword puzzles. Are you good at crossword puzzles?

      • authorjim May 23, 2013 at 12:36 pm #

A thirty year schedule for becoming good at crossword puzzles may be a little risky. I have no idea how old you are but thirty years from now your mind may have lost it’s acuity. I don’t think I am very good at crossword puzzles but I thought you might be because of your interest in trivia. I am not good at trivia at all and many of the crossword puzzles today are as much a trivia quiz as they are a crossword puzzle. You may want to add to your useless facts that the first known crossword puzzle was in 1890 but they didn’t gain any popularity until 1913 and became very popular in the 1920’s. I remember my mother doing them in the 1930’s. They followed some very specific rules at that time but those rules have all been abandoned now. For example, no proper names were used and, if the answer was more than one word, the number of words had to be given in the clue. Having said all that, I like crossword puzzles and usually do several of them a week. Keep on the sunny side.

Hahah Well I am 33 so I was thinking by the time I get into my 60’s hopefully I will have a lot more life experience and would hopefully learned a lot more than what I know now. Thank you so much for the crossword trivia, I would love to add that to the Useless Facts page. I probably would do a crossword puzzle once every 6 months, but who knows, 30 years down the track I might be doing more!

This is perfect for my family. My older son has always been “a storehouse of useless information.” Thanks for stopping by and taking a Gypsy Road Trip!

    • 09history May 23, 2013 at 2:28 pm #

Thank you so much Gypsy Bev. I hope you come across some useless information that your son didn’t yet know!
